digeridoo workshop

We got there about halfway through the workshops, where all ages and abilities of didge players were making various interesting sounds in a cosy setting.

Andy Wood's didge workshop was at the Nutclough Tavern studio on Saturday Afternoon.
(That's didge Andy, not jester Andy, who was to be seen pushing a supermarket trolley planted with one of Liquid Sunshine's gardens around Hebden Bridge at the time).

canned4kids

Canned4kids was a lovely collection of short films and animations for children put together by local film maker, Trina Skjoldan Nielsen, shown at Holme Street Arts Centre on Saturday afternoon.
There were also fairy cakes and tea, served by Nicolette and Michelle. Everyone was transfixed throughout the filmshow, my favourite ones being a sweet animation narrated by children and a fly-on-the wall piece about the Spanish horse displays in Hebden.

Magical Storytelling

Piers did a wonderful job with his magical storytelling today at Holme Street Arts Centre.
There were about 30 there, and a small group of children who really participated in the story, pretending to be eagles, monkeys, etc, with Timmy Thompson, the main character. Piers' stories are designed to indroduce children to magical worlds and relaxation techniques.

I was quite impressed when he got them all to lie down at the end...
Piers gave away one of his story CD's away at the end as a prize to the child who listened the best.
"The Magical Stories of Timmy Thompson (Journeying with the Animals)" by Piers Cross are available as a series of audio CD's from The Bookcase, Hebden Bridge and Amazon
